These songs are from our promo videos, which all say ?Soundtrack by Songsmith? at the end. We want to put our music where our mouth is, so we're posting the ?soundtrack? from our videos as both audio files and as Songsmith files, so you can download and play with these too. You can add your own vocals, change the mood, or try totally different styles.

These videos are a fun way to experience some music that was created in Songsmith; any music you hear in these videos was created with Songsmith and is available for download (above, in the soundtrack section, as a Songsmith file (so you can edit the music using Songsmith).

Homemade Music Videos

One of the coolest features in Songsmith is the ?export to Movie Maker? feature, which will open up Windows Movie Maker with your song as the soundtrack to a brand new video. Then you can use Windows Movie Maker to record and edit music videos for your songs (lip-sync, add animations, whatever you like). Here we show you a couple simple (but totally songtastic) examples of the kind of videos you might make this way. And of course, this wouldn't be the Songsmith music page if we didn't also link to the Songsmith file for the song you hear in these videos.

Instrumental Demos

Songsmith is a great way for someone who doesn?t play an instrument to get a taste of songwriting. But Songsmith is also a great way for someone who does play an instrument to explore new ideas or quickly assemble backing tracks for solos. In this demo, instead of singing into Songsmith, we played a guitar. Something else is a little different about this demo too... everything else you hear on this page the audio came right out of Songsmith, just by saving to an audio file. Here we want to also demonstrate a workflow that some musicians might use, so instead of just showing you the direct instrumental recording (which you can hear if you download the Songsmith files), we exported the lead and background music separately and just grabbed them in another audio application, where we added some reverb and distortion to the guitar. This is really easy to do with Songsmith and any audio application that supports snapping clips to measures and beats. Once again we?ve posted the Songsmith file so you can open and edit it yourself.
